Engagements: John + Melanie

I love a couple who brings their dogs along for their engagement photos. I'm sure John and Melanie think I'm a bit strange now, as I had to make some pretty funny noises to get the dogs' attention. By barking I was able to get some great photos with the dogs looking at the camera.

Wedding: Dustin + Jessi

Despite a few sprinkles and a short rain delay, Dustin and Jessi were married outside just like they wanted. They love their Red Raiders and are fans of mashed potatoes, which they showed by including an awesome mashed potato bar with their buffet. Jessi is the oldest of five and is the only girl, so her mom was on cloud nine all night, enjoying the "girliness" of the event.

Wedding: Bryan + Megan

Barr Mansion is another venue we've always wanted to shoot but didn't have the chance until Bryan and Megan came into our lives. The double wrap-around porches gave us lots of opporutnities for natural light shots. One of our favorites from this wedding is a shot we took before the ceremony with Megan on the upstairs porch and Bryan right below her. We always love to get this shot of the bride and groom before the ceremony, even though they don't actually see each other. After the reception we swung by the Capitol for some shots out front. Ann Richards was lying in state, and it was weird to turn on the television the next morning to see President Clinton standing in the same spot we had been just hours before.

Mike is more in love with Courtney than any groom we've ever seen. Seeing the way he doted over her reminded us of why we love shooting weddings.

FUN, FUN, FUN! From the getting ready party at the bride's parents' house to the getaway, this couple and their families were a ton of fun to work with. The band rocked and kept the guests dancing all night. We really got to know them through the process of planning their wedding, so by the time the event came around it was like hanging out with a couple of friends for the day.
